Graduate Admissions Office

Admissions Requirements
Requirements for admission may vary depending on your intended program of study. Review the program listing for specific information or contact the appropriate Program Coordinator for details about your program.
Application Fee A nonrefundable application fee of $50 is required with each application.
Transcripts
Applicants are responsible for obtaining and submitting official college or university transcripts in sealed envelopes for their application. For applicants who have completed an undergraduate degree at McDaniel College, the admissions office will acquire transcripts from college records.
Tuition Graduate tuition is $265.00 per credit hour. You may pay by check or credit card (VISA, MasterCard, or Discover) or if you wish to make monthly payments, tuition contract programs have been tailored to the needs of the following types of students:
Letters of Recommendation
Applicants must supply three letters of recommendation from undergraduate faculty, employers, or professional references.
International Students
Students applying from outside the United States or Canada should be sure to submit all fees via International Money Order. In additional to general admission requirements, students whose native language is not English and who have not matriculated in an English-speaking institution must submit with their applications official scores on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Only students with TOEFL scores of 213 or higher will be considered for admission. International students must also comply with other requirements issued by the Office of Student Affairs.
Admissions Decisions
The Office of Graduate and Professional Studies
maintains a file for each applicant; questions regarding the completeness
of applications should be directed to this office. Admissions
decisions are made under a rolling admissions process whereby
program coordinators decide on the status of an application in
consultation with the Graduate Affairs Committee. Inquiries about
the status of an application should be directed to the Graduate

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
Non-native speakers of English who have not received a degree from an English-speaking institution need to take the TOEFL and submit scores along with their application. Only students with TOEFL scores of 213 or higher will be considered for admission.
Non-degree Special Student Status
Students wishing to enroll in or attend graduate classes, but who are not immediately interested in a degree may apply for admission with Non-degree Special Student Status. Such students may include:
- Persons who already hold an advanced degree who want to take additional courses
- Graduate students in good standing at other institutions who wish to enroll temporarily and then return to their home institution.
- Persons seeking to meet certification requirements but not enter a full degree-seeking program.
- Individuals with a bachelor's degree who are simply interested in personal enrichment.
