Vickie Mazer joins McDaniel as Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies

Vickie Mazer has joined McDaniel College as the new dean of Graduate and Professional Studies following a national search.

At McDaniel, she is responsible for providing leadership and support of the college’s more than 20 master’s degree and certificate programs. Many of McDaniel’s graduate programs can be completed online or in blended format of online and in-person.

Mazer formerly served as the director of graduate services at Frostburg University for the past 13 years, where she oversaw all aspects of the graduate division, including graduate admissions and provided comprehensive support for programs delivered on campus, off-site and online. During her time in this role, she led the division to double-digit enrollment growth and worked to develop and implement new master’s degree and certificate programs, as well as a doctoral degree in educational leadership.

In addition to her experience in higher education, Mazer spent over 20 years in various leadership roles within the healthcare industry. A graduate of Potomac State College of West Virginia University with an associate degree in Pre-Physical Therapy, Mazer received both a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education (Exercise Physiology) and master’s degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University. She earned a doctoral degree from Frostburg University in Educational Leadership with a specialization in Higher Education Administration.
