    McDaniel faculty earn awards

    Members of the McDaniel College faculty were recognized with various awards to kick off the 2021-2022 academic year.
  • ROTC Gala Otto Guenther

    Board Chair Lt. Gen. (Ret.) Otto J. Guenther ’63 inducted into Army ROTC Hall of Fame

    Retired Lt. Gen. Otto J. Guenther, chair of the McDaniel College Board of Trustees, has been honored for his military achievements, both past and present. Guenther, a 1963 alumnus who majored in Economics and was a member of the Green Terror Battalion Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program, has been inducted into the national U.S. Army ROTC Hall of Fame, which recognizes ROTC graduates who have distinguished themselves in military or civilian pursuits. He has also been named a 2021 Veteran Champion of the Year in Higher Education by G.I. Jobs magazine, which publishes the Military Friendly® Schools list.

    Juniors, sophomores, and first-year students honored with academic and leadership awards

    Nearly 30 juniors, sophomores, and first-year students have earned awards for academic achievement and leadership from McDaniel College. Students were also named to two prestigious leadership honor societies, Omicron Delta Kappa and Trumpeters.

    McDaniel College announces Spring 2021 dean's list

    McDaniel College announces its Spring 2021 dean's list, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.

    Carroll County Health Officer Ed Singer ’87 honored with McDaniel’s Trustee Alumni Award

    Ed Singer ’87, Carroll County Health Officer and incident commander for Carroll County’s COVID-19 response, received McDaniel’s highest alumni honor, the Trustee Alumni Award, during the college’s 2021 Commencement in recognition of his career and service achievement.

    Top undergraduate and graduate student awards presented at 2021 Commencement

    Three top student awards, the Argonaut Award for achieving the highest cumulative grade-point average, the Edith Farr Ridington Writing Award, and the B. Jill Brooks Hodge Professional Development Award, were presented May 22 at McDaniel College’s 151st Commencement.

    Jacob E. Fine, a Music major from Lambertville, N.J., and Priscilla Owusu, a Chemistry major from Bowie, Md., were honored as the outstanding male and female members of the Class of 2021 during the May 21 virtual senior awards ceremony for activity and leadership awards.
