Mary Walker
Wednesday, February 12th at 7:00 p.m. in Peterson Hall Room 104
A studio artist who creates sculpture, painting and installations, Walker’s current work involves the production of wall-hung constructions combining the concerns of painting and sculpture.  “I use imagery and conceptual ideas from natural science and landscape,” she says.  “Formally I am interested in contrasting geometry and gesture, man-made and natural, chance and planning.” The lecture is free and open to the public.  For more information about the artist, please visit http://artistmarywalker.com/.

Bonnie Crawford Kotula
Thursday, March 27th at 7:00 p.m. in Peterson Hall Room 104
Crawford Kotula collects scraps of various non-art and fine art materials, ranging from discarded plastic packaging to printmaking paper.  “These materials are transformed and/or decontextualized via formal arrangements and playful juxtapositions.  This approach allows my studio practice to become a means of sorting out, both materially and conceptually.  The resultant objects and installations serve as documents of this process.” The lecture is free and open to the public.  For more information about the artist, please visit http://www.bonniecrawford.com/.
