Meet Dr. Richard Smith, coordinator of McDaniel’s newest master’s program

August 21, 2012

About Dr. Richard M. Smith

On being selected the coordinator of the new program:

“I have always been interested in how to influence change in society. I believe public administration is one of the ways in which a person can advocate and actively foster change. My experience as a sociologist, youth counselor and social activist provides me with not only the academic foundation but also the passion and excitement for public administration.”

Graduate & Professional Studies Dean Henry Reiff on selection of Dr. Smith:

“I had the pleasure of knowing Richard when he was an undergraduate student at McDaniel. It was clear that he was a passionate, intellectual and natural leader. He was also a successful advocate for social justice.  He brings what is expected to McDaniel’s graduate programs—expertise, commitment, energy and vision.”
