Zach Martin of Clarksville, Md., a senior on the McDaniel football team, has been named the Centennial Conference (CC) Special Team Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 19-20.
Martin had a banner day Oct. 20 on special teams against rival Dickinson, recovering a pair of blocked punts. In the second quarter, he recovered a blocked punt to set up the team's second touchdown. Late in the third quarter, Martin blocked a second Dickinson punt, catching the ball and returning it 18 yards for a touchdown. He finished the day with 12 total tackles and a sack between his play on defense and special teams.
Joe Rollins, a junior from Temple Hills, Md., led the Green Terror (0-7, 0-6 CC) on offense Oct. 20 with 216 yards on 38 carries to go with three touchdowns.
Dickinson scored the final 17 points of the game to defeat McDaniel 38-31 in overtime in Centennial Conference (CC) football action. The Green Terror (0-7, 0-6 CC) returns to action at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 27 at Juniata.
