McDaniel STEM CenterDynamic | Enhanced learning | Making STEM accessible
The STEM Center is the premier learning support space at McDaniel for students studying in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
The center assists students of all majors in achieving academic success in STEM. Supported subjects include Psychology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Computer Science, Accounting, Economics, and Statistics.
Students in STEM courses can attend just-in-time workshops to prepare for curriculum demands and exams, or they can stop by anytime for one-on-one assistance or to use the open study space. A tech-enabled HyFlex conference room allowing for simultaneous virtual and in-person interaction, collaborative technology, and adaptive workspaces make the STEM Center an inviting place for students of all learning styles.
Students can walk in for one-on-one support from formally trained peer learning assistants.
Targeted course support
Learning assistant-led workshops focus on course-specific content, so assistance is always relevant and timely.
Academic and professional skill workshops
The center hosts topical workshops and facilitated study groups to cultivate academic
skills both in and out of the classroom.
Dedicated study space
Modular desks and walls with tempered glass whiteboards provide a multi-functional place
for individual or collaborative study.
