Program Vision

The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program aspires to be recognized for its excellence in developing highly skilled, culturally responsive, and adaptable entry-level speech-language pathologists. Through transformative academic and clinical experiences, the program cultivates interdisciplinary collaboration, community engagement, and leadership in service to individuals, families, and society. Graduates emerge as lifelong learners prepared to build successful careers in service to individuals, communities, and society.  

Program Mission

The Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program prepares students to provide ethical, evidence-based, and person-centered services in an inclusive and evolving society. Through research-guided and innovative clinical education, rigorous academic instruction, immersive clinical experiences, interdisciplinary collaboration, and reciprocal community partnerships, the program cultivates culturally aware and professionally grounded graduates equipped to meet the communication needs of individuals across the lifespan.

Strategic Plan Executive Summary

The strategic plan for McDaniel College’s M.S. in SLP program outlines a comprehensive roadmap for developing a mission-driven, academically rigorous, and community-responsive graduate program. Grounded in the program’s vision to prepare adaptable, culturally responsive, and skilled clinicians, the plan reflects a strong commitment to inclusion, evidence-based practice, innovation, and leadership.

The plan is guided by four curricular themes: cultural responsivenessevidence-based practiceinterdisciplinary collaboration, and professionalism and advocacy. It is designed to achieve five overarching program goals that emphasize clinical competence, inclusive training, interprofessional learning, and student leadership.

To operationalize these goals, the strategic plan identifies nine priority areas.
