Get ready for McDaniel College’s 4th Annual Alumni Weekend, April 17–18! Green Terrors from near and far are invited back to the Hill for a weekend of celebration, connection, and tradition, with milestone reunions honoring class years ending in 1 and 6.

 

The weekend begins Friday with a lively happy hour hosted by the Alumni Coalition for Belonging & Impact, and capped off by the Alumni Association Awards ceremony. Saturday features a full slate of favorites, including Green Terror Teachings, the Vow Renewal ceremony in Little Baker, the return of the Alumni Weekend crab feast, milestone reunion celebrations, a gathering for former Green Terror athletes, and a family-friendly lawn party with games, activities, and music.

Friday Event Schedule

Alumni Weekend Check-In 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. | Ensor Lounge, Roj Student Center

Pick up your weekend schedule and name tag, meet up with friends, and snag some sweet McDaniel swag!

Presidential Luncheon 🟢 Noon-1:45 p.m.

Join President Julia Jasken for lunch as we hear the highlights of what is going on at your alma mater and the presentation of the C.U.P. Awards for Community, Unity, and Philanthropy!

Tickets are $25.

On-Your-Own Lunch Options Noon-2 p.m.

Explore the many options at every undergrad’s favorite dining spot, Englar Dining Hall, or grab a quick bite at the Hilltop Pub and find a cozy spot to snack in Roj Student Center.

Legacy Dessert Reception 1:45-2:45 p.m.

Meet with us over coffee and desserts to learn how the Legacy Society impacts the college and future Green Terrors. Current Legacy Society members and others interested in joining the society are invited. (Register early; space is limited!)

Open Campus 2-4 p.m. | Various Campus Locations

Rediscover the Hill you know and love! Drop in on a Friday class to hear a lecture, join a Green Terror team for practice and meet some student-athletes, see all the old — and some new — sites on a campus tour, or delve into the college archives at Hoover Library. Schedule of activities and locations to come. 

Senior Honors Colloquium 2:20–3:50 p.m. | Peterson 104

Professor Chloe Irla ’07, director of the Lumen Scholars honors program, invites alumni of the Honors Program and other Alumni Weekend guests to hear presentations from current students’ class projects and research. The McDaniel Honors Program was instituted by the faculty in 1986 and was renamed the Lumen Scholars program in 2025, inspired by the college motto, “I call you out of darkness into light.”

Happy Hour 🟢 4-6 p.m. | Naganna Forum

Hosted by the Alumni Coalition for Belonging & Impact of the Alumni Council

Cheers! Salud! Egészségedre! Join ACBI as we kick off Alumni Weekend with a celebratory toast that brings together alumni from across generations and experiences. Enjoy drinks, music, and hors d’oeuvres in a welcoming atmosphere designed for connection and conversation. Price includes hors d’oeuvres and two drinks.

Tickets are $15. | Walk-up tickets are $20.

Alumni Association Awards Celebration 🟢 6 p.m. | Baker Memorial Chapel

This special evening honors individuals who embody McDaniel’s tradition of achievement in their careers, communities, and at the college. Join us in the beautifully renovated Baker Memorial Chapel for an unforgettable night recognizing this year’s distinguished honorees. 

Ticket includes a three-course meal and an open beer and wine bar.

Tickets are $65.

Saturday Event Schedule

Caseys' Corner 8 a.m. - Noon | Hoover Library

Start your Alumni Weekend Saturday with a pick-me-up at Hoover Library! Stop in for an eye-opening cup of freshly brewed coffee and a tempting selection of light breakfast and brunch grab-and-go treats — perfect for fueling up before reconnecting with classmates and heading to your next event.

Alumni Weekend Check-In 9 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. | Ensor Lounge, Roj Student Center

When you arrive on the Hill, swing by Ensor Lounge just off Memorial Plaza to let us know you’re here! Pick up your weekend schedule, name tag, and some sweet McDaniel swag!

Green Terror Teachings 10-11:15 a.m. | Various Campus Locations

These short 45- to 60-minute enrichment sessions will give guests a snapshot of campus life and academic and social pursuits of current Green Terrors.

Brunch at Glar 10:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. | Englar Dining Hall, Roj Student Center

If you haven't been to campus in a while, stop for brunch at Glar and see just how good today’s Green Terrors have it! Glar offers eggs, pancakes, and other homestyle breakfast offerings, plus continental options, fresh fruit, pastries, and allergy-friendly choices — all part of their diverse culinary setup including fresh, oftentimes local, ingredients.

Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony 11:30 a.m. - Noon | Baker Chapel

At this special ceremony, led by our Student Alumni Ambassadors and the college chaplain, we honor alumni who have recently passed. The Memorial Bell Ringing occurs twice each year, at Homecoming and again at Alumni Weekend. At this service, we will recognize alumni who have departed from October 2025 to early April 2026. 

Spring into Health: Mind, Body, Community 11:30 a.m. | Baker Memorial Chapel

Join a special Alumni Weekend event with the McDaniel Women’s Leadership Network (MWLN). Spring into Health: Mind, Body, Community will feature health care experts who will discuss key issues in women’s health and provide valuable tools for self-advocacy with topics that matter most to you. Food and drinks will be served.

McDaniel Athletics Alumni Events Noon-3 p.m. | Various Campus Athletics Locations

Lace up your cleats or grab a seat in the stands as alumni take the field for men’s and women’s soccer alumni games, or cheer on Green Terror baseball as they square off against Muhlenberg. Whether you’re playing, watching, or just soaking in the excitement, it’s a full afternoon of Green Terror pride and friendly competition you won’t want to miss!

Join us for a relaxed, come-as-you-are gathering open to all McDaniel and WMC athletics alumni from every sport and every era! Reconnect with teammates, meet current coaches and student-athletes, and mingle with administrators as we celebrate Green & Gold Athletics together. After enjoying alumni games, cheering on Green Terror baseball, or taking part in other campus events, this is the perfect way to wrap up an action-packed afternoon on the Hill.

Family Lawn Party 1-4 p.m. | Albert Norman Ward Hall quad

Bring the whole family and enjoy a relaxed, outdoor afternoon filled with fun on the quad! Grab a snack or a non-alcoholic drink from the pretzel wagon, let the kids burn off energy on inflatables and the bounce house, and jump into classic lawn games. While you’re nearby, take a stroll through Hoover Library to explore a special exhibition curated by our college archivist — and keep an eye out, as a certain beloved green and fuzzy mascot may just stomp by to say hello.

Vow Renewal Ceremony 2:30-3 p.m. | Baker Chapel

Did your Green Terror love story begin on the Hill? Alumni couples are invited to celebrate their journey — romantic, nostalgic, and a little playful — at a lighthearted vow renewal ceremony honoring both your relationship and the place where it all started.

 
 
 

Classes of 1962 & 1963 Gathering 3 p.m. | Home of Don '62 & Janice '63 Hobart

Join fellow Western Maryland College alumni from the Classes of 1962 and 1963 for a relaxed and welcoming gathering at the home of Don Hobart ’62 and Janice Mooney Hobart ’63. Reconnect with classmates, share memories, and enjoy good conversation in a warm, informal setting. Drinks and appetizers will be provided.

Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS) Reception 3-4:30 p.m. | “Skybox” area outside the Wahrhaftig Room, Hoover Library

The Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS) Reception invites former SASS students, staff, and alumni to reconnect and celebrate the program’s impact on the Hill. Guests will have the opportunity to explore the newly renovated SASS office in Hoover Library, showcased during this special Alumni Weekend gathering. Meet current team members and learn how the office continues to support today’s Green Terrors. 

50th Reunion Remembrance Ceremony 4-4:30 p.m. | Baker Chapel

Honor departed alumni from the Class of 1975 at a service led by fellow class members.

All-Class Crab Feast 🟢 5:30-8 p.m. | Gill Tent

Alumni from any year are welcome to join the fun at the All-Class Crab Feast. Milestone Reunion classes listed below will have special reserved seating at the Crab Feast. Cost includes crabs, traditional crab feast sides, and an open beer and wine bar. 

The following classes are celebrating Milestone Reunions at the Crab Feast: 1966, 1996, 2006, 2011, 2016, and 2021.

Tickets are $60. | GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) tickets are $40.

PorchFest Student Music Festival 6-11 p.m. | Baker Memorial Chapel

PorchFest is a high-energy, student-run music festival happening at Big Baker Chapel. Featuring live performances by student bands and professional musicians, it offers a laid-back, festival-style vibe — an optional, drop-in way for alumni to enjoy a slice of campus life and great music during Alumni Weekend.
