Supporting the Whole Student

Students come to college with complex needs. Supporting the overall wellness of our students requires investments in disability support, counseling services, and our health center. Supporting our students' identities through our Office of Diversity and Inclusion and providing them entertainment opportunities through the Office of Student Engagement ensures that their McDaniel experience is well-rounded and meeting all their needs.

Supporting Student Wellness

As we seek to provide support for the whole student, your gift makes a significant impact on the well-being of our students. Ensuring our students have the support they need in all areas of their lives gives them the freedom to excel in their academic pursuits.

Meeting Basic Needs Home on the Hill

While scholarships and aid help worthy students attend McDaniel, a lack of basic needs can inhibit them from living and learning comfortably. Home on the Hill supports McDaniel students through perishable food items, toiletries, clothing and other necessities, allowing students to focus on putting their studies first.

Ensuring Student Success Student Accessibility & Support Services  Innovative Programs

Student Accessibility & Support Services (SASS) assists all students with documented disabilities. The SASS Office works with each student on a case-by-case basis to determine and implement appropriate accommodations based on individual needs. This support helps ensure that every single McDaniel student accomplishes their academic and personal goals.

Wellness Extended Support Program

In an effort to more fully support the long-term mental health needs of some of our students, the Wellness Center has developed an exciting new initiative, the Wellness Extended Support Program.   This fee-based option includes:

· Ongoing weekly individual therapy on-campus in McDaniel’s Wellness Center

· Clinical case management and coordination with student’s support team to maximize efficacy of treatment and support interventions. Support team members often include community psychiatry, family members, and Student Accessibility and Support Services.

· Specialized group therapy opportunities as available
