McDaniel students direct and perform a selection of 10-minute, one-act plays during the One-Act Play Festival. Performances are Thursday, April 30–Saturday, May 2, 7:30 p.m., in the Dorothy Elderdice Studio Theatre in WMC Alumni Hall.
Update: PupConnect earned the $5,000 top prize as the first-place winner at McDaniel's 2026 Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge. ChillPods was awarded the $1,000 People's Choice prize.

McDaniel College has been awarded a four-year grant totaling $580,100 from the Sherman Fairchild Foundation to purchase new state-of-the-art scientific equipment for research and teaching in McDaniel’s Biology, Chemistry, and Health Sciences departments.
Capstone works by senior Art majors are featured in two end-of-the-year exhibitions in McDaniel’s Esther Prangley Rice Gallery. "Senior Capstone Exhibition One" runs Tuesday, April 14-Friday, April 24, with a reception on Thursday, April 16, while "Senior Capstone Exhibition Two" runs Tuesday, April 28-Thursday, May 14, with a reception on Thursday, April 30.
McDaniel College announces Commencement speakers for the 2026 undergraduate and graduate ceremonies to be held Saturday, May 23. Undergraduate Commencement speaker is McDaniel College Trustee Robert Pick '92, P’25, executive vice president and chief information officer for Tokio Marine North America. Ochieng’ K’Olewe, the L. Wenner-Wingate Memorial Lecture features political sportswriter and author Dave Zirin, sports editor of The Nation and host of the Edge of Sports Television on The Real News Network, who speaks on sports and resistance in the United States. The lecture takes place on Tuesday, April 7, at 7 p.m. in Coley Rice Lounge, McDaniel Hall. It is free and open to the public.
Poet and essayist Bernard Jankowski ’80 delivers McDaniel College’s 37th annual B. Christopher Bothe Memorial Lecture on the eve of National Poetry Month on Tuesday, March 31. The event, which is free and open to the public, takes place at 7:30 p.m. in Coley Rice Lounge, McDaniel Hall.
Winners were announced during the opening reception of the Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition on Thursday, March 26. The exhibition runs through Friday, April 10, in McDaniel College's Esther Prangley Rice Gallery.
