Kendall Luy named head cross country and track & field coach at McDaniel

Kendall Luy has been hired as the new head cross country and track & field coach at McDaniel College. She comes to McDaniel from Fairleigh Dickinson University's (FDU) Florham campus, where she was the first head coach for men’s and women’s track & field in school history.

Kendall Luy has been hired as the new head cross country and track & field coach at McDaniel College and will oversee both the men’s and women’s programs, announced Director of Athletics Jeremy Shepherd.

Luy, who has spent 17 years as a college coach, served as the head cross country and track & field coach at Fairleigh Dickinson University's (FDU) Florham campus in Madison, N.J., since July 2021. She was the first head coach in the history of men’s and women’s track & field at FDU, starting the programs in 2022-23.

Previously, she was the head men's and women's track & field coach at Division III Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, from 2017-21, and an assistant cross country and track & field coach at Frostburg State University from 2008-17, where she also taught as an adjunct faculty member in the Department of Kinesiology and Recreation.

"We are thrilled to welcome Kendall Luy to McDaniel College as our new head coach for track and field and cross country,” said Shepherd. “With a wealth of coaching experience and a proven track record of developing student-athletes both on and off the track, Kendall brings the leadership and vision needed to elevate the Green Terror programs to new heights. We’re excited for the future under Kendall’s guidance."
