McDaniel College hosts events for Women's History Month

A lecture by community organizer Rosa Clemente on Tuesday, March 5, and a celebration for International Women's Day on Friday, March 8, mark Women's History Month at McDaniel College. Both events are organized by McDaniel's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and are free and open to the public.

McDaniel College marks Women's History Month with the Ira G. Zepp, Jr., Memorial Lecture featuring community organizer Rosa Clemente on Tuesday, March 5, and a celebration for International Women's Day on Friday, March 8.

Both events are organized by McDaniel’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and are free and open to the public. The office is also hosting the annual Cecelia Bowens Phenomenal Woman Awards in March for the campus community.

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at McDaniel promotes and facilitates programming that supports the college’s diverse student population, including such topics as race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, socio-economic status, physical ability, and religion.

Ira G. Zepp, Jr., Memorial Lecture: Rosa Clemente

Tuesday, March 5, 7 p.m.

Naganna Forum, Roj Student Center 

A lecture by Black-Puerto Rican community organizer and independent journalist Rosa Clemente, the first Afro-Latina woman to run for the vice president of the United States. Clemente is also the associate producer of the Oscar award-winning film “Judas and the Black Messiah.”
