McDaniel College students participate in virtual Maryland Independent Higher Education Day

McDaniel students virtually met with elected officials from Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Howard, and Prince George’s counties in support of the Sellinger Program, which provides funding for Maryland’s independent colleges.

McDaniel College students were chosen to represent the college by meeting with members of the Maryland Legislature during Maryland Independent Higher Education Day on Wednesday, Feb. 24.

McDaniel students joined by McDaniel President Roger N. Casey virtually met with elected officials from Allegany, Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Frederick, Howard, and Prince George’s counties through the web-conferencing platform, Zoom, due to COVID-19 protocols.

Maryland Independent Higher Education Day, organized by the Maryland Independent College and University Association, brings together more than 150 college students and administrators to celebrate funding of the Sellinger Program, the state grant program for eligible, nonprofit private colleges.
