McDaniel College Students Recognized for Summer ROTC Achievement

McDaniel College students recognized for summer ROTC achievement. Army ROTC has been a tradition at McDaniel College since 1919, and the Green Terror Battalion is one of the oldest ROTC programs in the nation.

McDaniel College students, who are Army ROTC cadets with the Green Terror Battalion, have received recognition for participating in summer activities.

Army ROTC has been a tradition at McDaniel College since 1919, and the Green Terror Battalion, which includes cadets from McDaniel, Hood and Mount St. Mary’s, is one of the oldest ROTC programs in the nation. McDaniel also participates in the Post-9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program. McDaniel has consistently been recognized among Military Friendly Schools® in the nation.

  • Griffin Crowley of Cape May, N.J., and John Holbrook of Alexandria, Va., who participated in Cadet Troop Leader Training (CTLT) at Fort Bragg, N.C. CTLT provides cadets with leadership experience while serving in lieutenant-level positions in active Army units for three to four weeks during the summer months.
  • Andre Berry of Fort Lee, Va., who participated in the Cultural Understanding and Language Proficiency program (CULP) in Poland. CULP allows cadets the opportunity to travel to other countries to become more aware of cultures, languages and regions, while engaging in international military training and humanitarian outreach.
  • Rachmat Effendy of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, who participated in an Army-sponsored internship with the NASA Ames Research Center in Calif., and Brandon Rozanski of Severn, Md., who participated in an Army-sponsored internship at the Army Medical Command at Fort Stewart, Ga. Each summer, cadets participate in Army-sponsored internships with some of the premier military and civilian organizations in the United States.
