SmartTALK: Attorney and DISH executive David Moskowitz on his multifaceted career

President Roger Casey will lead a conversation with David Moskowitz ’80, an attorney and senior executive instrumental in building DISH Network on March 22 at 7 p.m., when the McDaniel College SmartTALK series returns to Decker Center Forum. The event is free and open to the public.

When Moskowitz joined DISH as its first general counsel in 1990, the Denver-based business was a private satellite television hardware and programming company with 300 employees. By 2006, he had helped to transform DISH into the third-largest pay TV provider in the U.S. with about 14 million customers. Today, DISH is a $25 billion company with over 25,000 employees, and is poised to ride the next wave of change in mobile communications with one of the most valuable portfolios of wireless spectrum licenses in the United States.

Moskowitz graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Political Science and English in 1980. He earned a J.D. from the National Law Center of George Washington University in 1983. Learn how his liberal arts education propelled his astronomically multifaceted career, which has included taking DISH public, traveling to five continents negotiating deals to build and launch satellites and leading lobbying teams in Washington, D.C., and all 50 states.
