More than 60 members of the Boys and Girls Club of Westminster (BGCW) attended the second annual holiday party in McDaniel Lounge Dec. 6 to celebrate the club’s partnership with McDaniel.

The event featured food, song and an opportunity to learn about holiday traditions around the world with craft and activity stations organized by various McDaniel student organizations, including paper poinsettias with the Hispanic Latino Alliance, Yule logs with Le Cercle Francais, holiday cards with Gamma Sigma Sigma, dreidel games with the Jewish Student Union, Kwanzaa calendars with Afro G.R.A.C.E., New Year’s lanterns with the Asian Community Coalition, face painting by members of Alpha Phi Omega, and Christmas crafts with McDaniel Unity and Phi Mu.

Santa even paid a visit bringing each BGCW member a bright blue hooded sweatshirt donated by McDaniel faculty and staff – emblazoned with the BGCW logo on the front and the McDaniel logo on the back.

The event, organized by McDaniel’s Center for Experience and Opportunity (CEO), celebrated the official partnership between McDaniel and the Boys and Girls Club, which was formed in 2010 to strengthen the relationship between the campus and club, with increased volunteer opportunities, access to college facilities and events, and club-based programming.
