McDaniel College has again been named a Military Friendly School
McDaniel College has been named a Military Friendly School.
The Military Friendly Schools® list, released in conjunction with Veteran’s Day, recognizes the nation’s top colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most for members of the military, veterans and their families. This is the eighth consecutive year that McDaniel has been included on the list.
Army ROTC has been a tradition at the college since 1919, and the Green Terror Battalion is one of the oldest ROTC programs in the nation. McDaniel also participates in the Post-9/11 GI Bill and Yellow Ribbon Program.
McDaniel appears with other 2017 Military Friendly Schools® in the annual “Guide to Military Friendly® Schools,” special education issues of “G.I. Jobs®” and “Military Spouse” magazine, as well as on MilitaryFriendly.com.
First published in 2009, the Military Friendly Schools® list is compiled annually by Victory Media, publisher of “G.I. Jobs®,” “STEM JobsSM” and “Military Spouse.” The list is based on extensive research of public data sources, input from student veterans and responses to a data-driven survey from participating institutions. Out of the 1,600 schools that participated in the 2017 survey, 1,160 schools were awarded the designation.
Ratings methodology, criteria and weightings were determined by Victory Media with input from the Military Friendly® Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the survey scores with the assessment of the institution’s ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.
