WESTMINSTER, Md. – Maryland State Senator Edward J. Kasemeyer has received the alumni community service award from McDaniel College. A resident of Columbia, Md., he is a 1967 alumnus of the college.

Presented annually during McDaniel’s Homecoming, the alumni community service award is given to a graduate who has performed outstanding voluntary service to their community beyond normal business or professional obligations.

Kasemeyer has been a member of the Maryland General Assembly for 32 years and currently serves as State Senator for District 12 representing portions of Howard and Montgomery counties. As Chairman of the Senate Budget and Taxation Committee, he plays a key role in the fiscal management and policy of the State of Maryland.
