McDANIEL COLLEGE ANNOUNCES STAFF ADDITIONS TO INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT

WESTMINSTER, Md. – McDaniel College announces staff additions to Institutional Advancement. Brenda Frazier and Dianne Thompson have recently joined the staff, and Lawrence “Chip” Junkin has been promoted to his new position.
• Brenda Frazier of Westminster, Md., has been named associate vice president for development and leadership gifts at McDaniel, where she is responsible for gift planning, major gifts and annual giving, and oversees all development staff.
Frazier has more than a decade of experience in development and major gift fundraising. She previously served as director of development for the Carroll Hospital Foundation. Prior to beginning her career at Carroll Hospital as director of campaigns and special programs, she was associate director of major gifts at McDaniel College. She has a bachelor’s degree from East Stroudsburg University, Pa.
• Dianne Thompson is the new executive director of annual giving at McDaniel. In this role, she manages a comprehensive program of building private support for the college with specific focus on increasing alumni participation. She also provides strategic leadership to the annual giving staff responsible for securing donations for the Fund for McDaniel, which supports McDaniel’s highest priorities, such as scholarships, academic programs and other key aspects of the college.
A 1987 alumna of McDaniel, Thompson of Westminster, Md., was formerly director of annual giving at Loyola University Maryland. She has previously served in alumni relations and fundraising roles at Stevenson University, Carroll Community College and McDonogh School in Owings Mills, Md.
• Lawrence “Chip” Junkin has been promoted to senior associate vice president of institutional advancement. He is responsible for leadership gifts, planned giving and campaign planning.
Junkin has more than 30 years of fundraising experience and has served in a variety of roles at McDaniel over the last 10 years, including associate vice president for development, campaign director and special philanthropy advisory. He was previously director of development and alumni relations, as well as director of gift planning, at Westtown School in West Chester, Pa. He also worked as principal at Tyler Read and Associates and senior campaign and managing director at Ketchum. Junkin earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Wooster in 1985 and a master’s degree in public administration from McDaniel in 2015.
