Juried exhibition showcases Art students' best work

Winners were announced during the opening reception of the Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition on Thursday, March 26. The exhibition runs through Friday, April 10, in McDaniel College's Esther Prangley Rice Gallery.

Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition runs through Friday, April 10.

The Kathryn E. Wentz Juried Undergraduate Exhibition at McDaniel College highlights the best undergraduate artwork, such as painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media.

All students at the college are annually invited by McDaniel's Art department to submit up to five works completed while studying at McDaniel for inclusion in the exhibition. Awards are presented for Best in Show, first, second, and third places, honorable mentions, as well as a Foundation Award.

Award winners were announced during the opening reception held Thursday, March 26. The exhibition runs through Friday, April 10. 

Kourtney Stone, former resident artist at Baltimore Clayworks and current assistant professor at Harrisburg Area Community College, served as the juror for the exhibition. Stone earned a B.F.A. in Ceramics and M.A. in Teaching from Maryland Institute College of Art. She also studied at Georgia State University, completing a M.F.A. in Studio Art with a specialization in Ceramics.

Esther Prangley Rice Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m.–4 p.m., and Saturday, noon–5 p.m. Call 410-857-2595 for more information.
