McDaniel College’s fall 2026 events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill.
McDaniel College’s fall 2026 campus events calendar is chock-full of art exhibitions, performances, lectures, and other events on the Hill. All of the events are open to the public and most are free.
Some highlights include:
- A solo Art exhibition by award-winning artist Bart Walter, known for his bronze sculptures and drawings of wildlife, as well as a guest artist lecture by watercolor artist and wood engraver Scott Ponemone.
- Chamber Music on the Hill featuring the Embassy String Quartet, whose mission is to use music to promote cultural diplomacy, and Eastern European multicultural ensemble Gerdan, as well as Common Ground on the Hill concerts, along with Music and Theatre performances showcasing McDaniel students and faculty.
- Lectures and academic events, such as the annual Constitution Day Lecture, the Phi Beta Kappa Visiting Scholar Lecture, "Hip Hop, Philosophy, and the (Broken) Social Contract;" the Holloway Lecture with a leading scholar on poet and playwright Oscar Wilde; and the Lumen Lecture presented by Communication and Cinema Professor Jonathan Slade '88. In addition, a Fall Research Symposium showcases projects completed by students in McDaniel's Biology department.
- The McDaniel Women's Leadership Network, an exclusive group of leaders focused on building connections and programs that support students and alumni, hosts its fall event in Howard County, Maryland, and McDaniel proudly serves as host sponsor for the Carroll County Women's Conference.
- College-wide celebrations, including Homecoming and the Athletics Hall of Fame Celebration, as well as Parent and Family Weekend and the Undergraduate Awards Ceremony and Parent and Family Brunch.
- The Green & Gold Challenge, supporting McDaniel's student-athletes.
- Community events for current high schoolers in the Carroll County Scholars program, the annual Trick or Terror with trick-or-treating and fun family-friendly activities, and a Veterans Day Ceremony.
- Admissions events, including Virtual Coordinator Connections highlighting McDaniel's 20-plus graduate master's and certificate programs, along with a Game Day Open House at Homecoming and a Fall Open House for prospective undergraduate students and their families.
- McDaniel's M.S. in Occupational Therapy program sponsors the Maryland Occupational Therapy Association (MOTA) conference on campus. McDaniel is also a proud sponsor of the first-ever Carroll Book Festival and will once again kick off the annual Westminster Fallfest Parade.
