McDaniel College students inducted into Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) national biological honor society

Students were inducted April 5 into McDaniel College's Alpha Mu Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) national biological honor society. There were two inductees for associate membership and 10 for active membership. Ben Smith, director of the McDaniel College STEM Center, was also inducted as an honorary member.

TriBeta Spring 2024 new members

10 McDaniel students were inducted as active members of McDaniel's Alpha Mu Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) national biological honor society, including Angalyn Strouse, Lauren Logue, Rianna Nunes, Kekeli Womack, Lauren Portis, Sebastian Whipple, Destiny Haley, and Patty Punchasutthi. Students were inducted April 5 into McDaniel College's Alpha Mu Chapter of the Beta Beta Beta (TriBeta) national biological honor society.

There were two inductees for associate membership and 10 for active membership, all of whom met the membership requirements. Ben Smith, director of the McDaniel College STEM Center, was also inducted as an honorary member.

TriBeta, founded in 1922, is the honor society for the biological sciences. Its goals are to stimulate interest, scholarly attainment, and investigation into the biological sciences, and to inform students of the possibilities for achievement in the Biological Sciences. McDaniel College’s Alpha Mu chapter was founded in 1932.

Associate members must complete four credits in Biology with a 3.0 GPA in Biology courses and a 2.75 overall. Active members must complete 12 credits in Biology with a 3.25 in Biology courses and a 3.0 overall.
