McDaniel College has announced an approximately $15 million bequest, the largest gift in the college's history, along with the public launch of a $50 million comprehensive campaign entitled “Reaching New Heights: The Campaign for McDaniel College.” Learn more at campaign.mcdaniel.edu.
On Monday, Jan. 12, McDaniel celebrated 39 new National Board Certified Teachers (NBCTs) who participated in the college's three-semester graduate course sequence. All of those enrolled currently teach in Carroll County Public Schools and accomplished a 77% achievement rate, above the 71% current pass rate for National Board Certification.
Blaine Donnelly has been hired as the new head field hockey coach at McDaniel College. She comes to McDaniel from Washington and Lee University, where she spent the last four seasons as an assistant coach.
Maryland’s U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Angela Alsobrooks have announced that McDaniel has been awarded $830,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS). The funds will be used to purchase technology and equipment for McDaniel’s state-of-the-art Nursing facility at LifeBridge Health’s Carroll Hospital, which is slated for completion for fall 2026.
