Our Mission

The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) encourages students to engage in learning without limits by advancing opportunities that allow for growth and development within and beyond the classroom setting. Through partnerships with academic and campus life, we promote integrative learning and assist students with connecting to College resources and programs including social events, student organization membership, leadership development programs, Student Government Association, Greek Life, community service and more.

Something For Everyone

70+ student-led organizations, covering interests as varied as community engagement, academic, political interest groups/honor societies, recreation, environmental and social issues.

Student Engagement Peers

The Office of Student Engagement is proud to work closely with Student Engagement Peers (EPs) to plan and organize social activities with and for students. The EPs support student organization event planning as well as creating social events that appeal to students' interests.

Opportunities for Involvement

One of the hallmarks of successful McDaniel students is that they jump in, getting involved in co-curricular and social activities that enhance their McDaniel experience. We encourage you to identify opportunities where you can make a difference and have fun, graduating with academic and leadership experiences that set you apart.

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion ODEI PROGRAMS Programs/Events

The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI) seeks to support students, staff, and faculty in achieving a more diverse, equitable and inclusive McDaniel. The Office hosts various events, workshops and groups to foster community, facilitate discussions, and raise awareness. The ODEI works with different student organizations to support and plan different cultural or religious events on campus. For faculty and staff, in addition to the many trainings and workshops, the ODEI facilitates a semester long book club.

Every semester, the ODEI also runs a speaker series. The ODEI Cultural Speaker Series hopes to honor and celebrate the different history and heritage months throughout the year.

Social Activities The Weekend Blitz Opportunities to Explore

McDaniel's location, close to Baltimore, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., makes weekend trips easy and fun. Through the Weekend Blitz, you'll have the chance to take advantage of the social activities throughout our region. Blitz trips might include a Washington Nationals game, trips to local museums or the National Zoo, holiday-related events (Field of Screams at Halloween, anyone?), amusement parks and more. All trip costs are subsidized with the intention of making them affordable.
