Heather Gable, D.N.P., LNHA, CNE, NEA-BC

Associate Professor and Program Director of Nursing

McDaniel College's Nursing Bachelor of Science (B.S.N.) program is designed to prepare future nurses with the essential skills and knowledge they will need to excel in the field of nursing. 

McDaniel's new partnerships with Carroll Health and LifeBridge Health will help to address the need for qualified nurses by combining the liberal arts with the technical knowledge and skills to prepare future nurses who are practicing in diverse health care settings. McDaniel Nursing students will have access to clinical placements at LifeBridge Health locations and be eligible for CARE BRAVELY scholarships.

Nursing, Bachelor of Science (B.S.N.)

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program at McDaniel College equips students with the knowledge, skills, and clinical experience necessary to excel in the dynamic nursing field. Students will engage in a comprehensive curriculum integrating theory with experiential opportunities, preparing them to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in various healthcare settings.

"For me, it’s more than just the material I teach, or the test preparation advice I can give for licensure. It’s about helping students identify who they are as a person, because this will allow them to better care for people who are different from them," Ort says.

    McDaniel faculty recognized with awards

    To kick off the 2025-26 academic year, various awards were presented to McDaniel College faculty members during the opening faculty meeting.

    McDaniel's Nursing program receives funding awards from Maryland Higher Education Commission

    McDaniel Nursing Program Director Heather Gable was awarded $5,000 for achieving the National League for Nursing’s Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) credential. In addition, the college received a more than $40,000 grant to support professional development opportunities for McDaniel’s nurse educators.
  • Jennifer Ort fellowship

    Nursing faculty member receives statewide fellowship

    Jennifer Ort, D.N.S., RNC MN-N, assistant director of McDaniel’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.), is a recipient of a Nursing Faculty Fellowship from the Maryland Higher Education Commission (MHEC). The award supports the recruitment and retention of nurse educators in Maryland by providing grants to new full-time nursing faculty.
