    After Jonathan Nepini finishes his master's in graphic design, he plans to open his own design firm or work for a nonprofit related to environmental conservation in the Chesapeake. His senior honors solo art exhibition show tackled the issue of sea level rise in the Chesapeake Bay region from several different angles ranging from its environmental effects to its effects on the communities that border the Bay.

    Garrett Gregoire matter-of-factly points out that his student-faculty research project won’t cure cancer. Perhaps not, but his work does make a real contribution to the field of developmental biology and just might provide the tools that will help some future researcher grow replacement red blood cells in a Petri dish.

    Scholarship winner takes time out for cancer research before medical school

    Kristen Upton ’18 is taking a gap year before using her most recent honor, the Maryland Association of College Directors of Athletics (MACDA) scholarship, towards medical school — if, that is, doing cancer research at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) can be considered a gap year.

    Alumnus’ book looks to the past for solutions to today’s issues

    Nathan Wuertenberg, a 2012 McDaniel alumnus and doctoral candidate at The George Washington University, recently edited and contributed to “Demand the Impossible: Essays in History as Activism,” a book of essays on historical topics that lend context and encourage new approaches to issues facing the U.S. and world today.

    Psychology student presents groundbreaking research at national conference

    Last fall, during Katie Keegan’s senior year, the Psychology major’s curiosity sparked an Honors research study about perceptions of mass murder committed by Muslims versus Christians and landed her a presentation spot at a national conference.
