McDaniel alum directs students in Theatre Arts department’s production of “Stop Kiss”

McDaniel College Theatre Arts presents a production of the acclaimed comedy-drama “Stop Kiss,” directed by McDaniel alum Zack Callis '21. Performances are Thursday, Oct. 5-Saturday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. Note: the show contains adult material and is intended for mature audiences.

McDaniel College students perform in the Theatre Arts department’s production of “Stop Kiss.”

Performances are Thursday, Oct. 5-Saturday, Oct. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. Note: the show contains adult material and is intended for mature audiences.

An acclaimed comedy-drama by playwright Diana Son, "Stop Kiss” is a timely, thought-provoking piece that explores the evolution of relationships and examines the depths of human emotion, compassion, love, and acceptance.

Variety called it “a poignant and funny play about the ways, both sudden and slow, that lives can change irrevocably.

McDaniel alum Zack Callis, who earned a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts in 2021, is directing the college’s production.

He said, “​​​​It wasn’t too long ago I was a student at McDaniel, eager to begin working professionally. McDaniel holds a special place in my heart and I’m grateful my first directing gig as a graduate is at McDaniel.”

  • Tyra Pritchett, senior Psychology major from Hanover, Maryland
  • RJ Schnitzer, senior Cinema-Theatre Arts major from Gaithersburg, Maryland
  • Paul Steinert, junior Elementary Education major from Dundalk, Maryland
