In advance of the 2026 midterm elections, McDaniel College President Julia Jasken has joined with more than 625 presidents, provosts, and chancellors from colleges and universities nationwide in signing the ALL IN Campus Democracy Challenge Presidents’ Commitment to promote student voter registration and participation in all elections.
The Presidents’ Commitment is part of ALL IN’s mission to make nonpartisan voter registration a priority on college campuses.
Through the pledge, McDaniel is committed to ensuring all eligible students have the information and resources needed to register to vote and cast informed ballots.
McDaniel's Registrar’s Office regularly shares voter registration information with students, including resources through Rock the Vote and guidance for students who choose to vote in Maryland.
The college's McDaniel Votes webpage also provides resources to increase civic engagement, election understanding, student and employee voter awareness, and student and employee voter turnout in local, state, and federal elections.
Additionally, McDaniel’s Political Science department hosts an annual lecture in celebration of Constitution Day in September featuring a prominent judge or elected official who discusses the importance of being politically informed and civically engaged.
Also, as part of the 2026 Constitution Day, the Center for Experience and Opportunity (CEO) hosted the Carroll County League of Women Voters to kick off voter registration and provide election information. Then, during Voter Education Week in October, the CEO and several student organizations, including Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, Hispano-Latinx Alliance, Phi Sigma Sigma, and the Pre-Law Society, hosted a voter registration tabling event. Olyvia Bollin, a senior Sociology and Criminal Justice and Philosophy major from Red Lion, Pennsylvania, also assisted as part of her internship with TurnUp, the largest youth-led voter registration and turnout initiative.
Election Day for the 2026 midterm elections is Tuesday, Nov. 3, with early voting in Maryland taking place from Thursday, Oct. 22 through Thursday, Oct. 29.
