McDaniel College President Julia Jasken has been named to The Daily Record’s listing of Maryland’s Top 100 Women for 2022.

President Jasken is among the honorees who will be recognized during an awards celebration on May 9 for their professional accomplishments, community leadership, and mentoring.

A panel of business professionals, previous Maryland’s Top 100 Women winners, and a representative from The Daily Record selected this year’s recipients.

“This year's Maryland's Top 100 Women work hard, play hard and create better lives for their teams, their networks and their families. They are inclusive change agents who are not afraid to face adversity and stand up for what they believe,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, senior group publisher of The Daily Record. "Their community impact and commitment to mentoring are outstanding. We at The Daily Record are proud to honor them.”

President Jasken became the 10th president of McDaniel College and the second woman in the college's over 150-year history on June 1, 2021, and will be officially installed as president during the April 9 inauguration ceremony.

She has dedicated nearly her entire professional life to higher education and most notably to McDaniel, where she began her tenure in the classroom as an English professor before serving in various administrative roles. A champion of both the liberal arts and McDaniel’s student-centered mission, she has overseen many of the college’s strategic initiatives, including the signature McDaniel Commitment.

In addition to President Jasken, McDaniel alumna Rachel Druckenmiller ’06, the founder and chief executive officer of Unmuted, LLC, and an award-winning and nationally-recognized thought leader in workplace wellbeing and culture, is also on the list.
