Theatre Arts students direct and perform in production of “Eurydice”

McDaniel College Theatre Arts students direct and perform in a production of “Eurydice," a reimagining of the classic myth of Orpheus told through the eyes of its heroine. McDaniel College’s Theatre Arts students direct and perform in a production of “Eurydice," a reimagining of the classic myth of Orpheus told through the eyes of its heroine.

Performances are Thursday, Feb. 29-Saturday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m., in the Dorothy Elderdice Studio Theatre in WMC Alumni Hall. Note: the show contains themes of death and grief; may use fog.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students, seniors (over 60), active military members and veterans, as well as those with a McDaniel College ID. For ticket information, call 410-857-2448.

Dying too young on her wedding day, Eurydice journeys to the underworld, where she reunites with her beloved father and struggles to recover lost memories of her husband and the world she left behind.

Madison Dehais, senior Theatre Arts and Food Studies major from Montpelier, Virginia, directs McDaniel College’s production and Madeline Mobley, sophomore English major from Joppa, Maryland, is the stage manager.

Bella Myers, senior Theatre Arts major from Mt. Airy, Maryland, portrays Eurydice, as well as acts as the dramaturg, while Reese Weaver, sophomore Theatre Arts major from Brandywine, Maryland, portrays Orpheus.

  • Madison Wise, first-year student from Baltimore
