For Chemistry majors interested in teaching, adding a minor in Education offers a path to both elementary and secondary level certification in the state of Maryland.
- Biochemistry Major
Apply the study of Chemistry to living systems in Biology. Lab and research opportunities will prepare you for advanced study or a fulfilling career.
- Chemistry Minor
Offers an excellent complement to another major, and creates a broad awareness and diversified expertise.

Three professors selected for endowed appointments
McDaniel College has appointed Dana Ferraris, associate professor of Chemistry, Steven Pearson, professor of Art & Art History, and Kevin McIntyre, professor of Economics and Business Administration and coordinator of the master’s degree program in Data Analytics, to endowed positions.

Meet the Department Chair Dana Ferraris
I received my Ph.D. in chemistry from Johns Hopkins University in 1999 and my MBA from Carey Business School in 2009. I have recently transitioned into teaching undergraduate organic chemistry and medicinal chemistry here at McDaniel College. I have used my industrial experience to generate relevant undergraduate research projects, create internships and establish collaborations with both industry and academia.
