Janelle Holmboe has joined McDaniel College as the new vice president for enrollment management and dean of admissions following a nationwide search.
As a member of McDaniel’s leadership team, Holmboe is responsible for developing and implementing the College’s enrollment management, financial aid and marketing strategies. She brings to McDaniel a wide range of strategic enrollment and marketing experience in addition to strong financial skills and leadership expertise.
“I am thrilled to have Janelle join McDaniel,” said McDaniel College President Roger N. Casey. “Her experience in enrollment management and admissions, coupled with her energy and enthusiasm, will be embraced by our community.”
Previously vice president for enrollment and marketing at Warren Wilson College in Asheville, N. C., Holmboe built a high-functioning enrollment and marketing division that developed and implemented multi-year strategies such as an institutional rebrand and a comprehensive website redesign and launch.
Through energetic and motivational leadership, she piloted her admission, financial-aid and marketing team through strategies that resulted in increases in requests for information, applicant pool, GPA of new students and student retention. She is committed to strategic enrollment planning that is rooted in both the data and the stories and trends that the data reveals.
A native Californian, Holmboe earned her bachelor’s degree in English as well as her certificate of enrollment management at the University of Southern California and her M.B.A. from George Fox University in Portland, Ore. In addition to her role at Warren Wilson College, she has worked as dean of admissions at American International College in Springfield, Mass., and associate director of graduate and professional admissions at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore. At McDaniel, she succeeds Florence Hines, who headed to another institution in mid-June.
Holmboe has served as a board member of the Advertising Club of Western Massachusetts and a member of the Ruffalo Noel-Levitz 2016 advisory committee. Earlier this year she presented “Maximizing Search and Partnering Effectively with Marketing” at the College Board National Enrollment Leadership Academy. She relocated to the Westminster area with her husband and two young sons.
