Sixth-year head coach Sandy Lagana recorded her 72nd victory to become the program’s all-time winningest coach Oct. 7 when McDaniel scored an 8-1 win over Bryn Mawr in Centennial Conference (CC) women's soccer action.
McDaniel took a 3-0 lead just 15:46 into the game. Kathryn Dixon of New Bern, N.C., led the Green Terror (9-3, 5-1 CC) with a pair of goals and added one assist.
Katie Kirschenmann of Damascus, Md., opened the scoring, finding the back of the net just 81 seconds into the game off a pass from Allie Titus of Frederick, Md. Paola Rosa of Laurel, Md., turned around a restart by Bryn Mawr to double the lead at the 11:27 mark.
In women’s cross country, Rebecca Debinski of Sykesville, Md., finished first to lead McDaniel to a second-place finish Oct. 6 at the Bud Smitely Invitational hosted by Penn State-Harrisburg.
The Green Terror finished second with 45 points. A total of 24 runners competed at the 5,000-meter distance. Lebanon Valley won the meet with 20 points. Debinski turned in a time of 20:36.3 to finish first. It was her second straight individual victory.
