McDaniel College has announced an approximately $15 million bequest, the largest gift in the college's history, along with the public launch of a $50 million comprehensive campaign entitled “Reaching New Heights: The Campaign for McDaniel College.” Learn more at campaign.mcdaniel.edu.
Lucero Espinal '20 of Westminster, Maryland, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and a minor in Education with a PreK-12 specialization, and Tim McLister '13 of Leesburg, Virginia, who holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Economics, have been appointed as recent alumni trustees on the McDaniel College Board of Trustees. They are the first alumni to hold the position.
McDaniel President Julia Jasken was named to The Daily Record's Top 100 Women list for the second time and was honored during the award's 30th anniversary celebration on May 5, alongside Psychology major Janiah Fields, a 2025 graduate, who was the winner of the 2025 Top 100 Women Scholarship.
McDaniel College celebrates its 155th Commencement for the Class of 2025. The college's Graduate Commencement Ceremony is Saturday, May 17, at 11 a.m. and the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony will be held Friday, May 23, at 1 p.m. Both ceremonies take place in the college’s Gill Center. McDaniel College announces Commencement speakers for the 2025 undergraduate and graduate ceremonies. Military and business leader Linda L. Singh serves as the speaker for the Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 23, while Associate Professor of Counseling Simeon K. McDaniel College has named Peter Spartin '84 to its Board of Trustees. Spartin, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Economics and Business Administration, is currently managing director for Globalis Partners, an affiliate of Butler Capital Partners.
A group of seven students from McDaniel College traveled to Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, Feb. 18, for "Independent Higher Education Day," along with President Julia Jasken, Associate Vice President for Administration and Government Relations Jenni Glennon, and Social Work Professor Jim Kunz.
