McDaniel hosts Homecoming 2026

Alumni, students, families, and community members celebrate Homecoming 2026 on Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3, with Homecoming traditions, including tailgating at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium while Green Terror football takes on Carnegie Mellon University, and a special announcement at halftime before recognition of the McDaniel College Athletics Hall of Fame award recipients. Additionally, the annual Green & Gold Challenge, a weeklong competition to support McDaniel's student-athletes, runs Oct. 1-8.

Homecoming weekend kicks off Friday, Oct. 2, with the McDaniel College Athletics Hall of Fame Celebration. 

The 2026 recipients are:

  • Caroline Brehm '15 (Softball)
  • Brad Brooks '16 (Men's Swimming)
  • Chloe Allen-Gorman '16 (Women's Soccer and Track & Field)
  • Rob Johns '02 (Men's Wrestling)
  • Phyllis Landry '80 (Track & Field)
  • Harry Peoples '80 (Football and Track & Field)

The Office of Student Engagement is also hosting a Greek Life Alumni Mixer from 5–7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2, for Greek alumni to connect with current Greeks. Sign up to attend.

Before festivities officially begin on Saturday, Oct. 3, head over to Caseys' Corner in Hoover Library to check out the recent renovations made possible by a generous gift from President Emeritus Roger Casey and Robyn Allers. Also, plan to meet Provost Caroline R. Sherman, Ph.D., and Leonard Arvi, Ph.D., the inaugural dean of McDaniel's School of Business and Technology, who will be available from 9–10 a.m. 

Starting at 9 a.m., various alumni games are planned for swimming, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse, volleyball, baseball, and softball. 

Other highlights include the annual brunch hosted by the Alumni Coalition for Belonging & Impact at 10 a.m. and the Biannual Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony at 11:30 a.m.

In addition to the alumni tailgating tent during the game, featured tailgates include a celebration of 50 years of Social Work on the Hill and the McDaniel Women's Leadership Network. McDaniel Admissions is hosting a Game Day Open House for prospective students (advance registration required). 

Homecoming traditions prior to kickoff of the Green Terror football game against Carnegie Mellon University include the presentation of the Homecoming Court, naming the winner of the Letters on the Hill contest, and awarding the James Brant Memorial Cup to the McDaniel fraternity or sorority that excels in academics, varsity sports, leadership, and community service. A special announcement is also planned at halftime prior to the recognition of the McDaniel College Athletics Hall of Fame award recipients. 

Additionally, home athletic contests include women's soccer at noon vs. Swarthmore at the soccer complex, men's soccer at 3 p.m. vs. Swarthmore at the soccer complex, and field hockey vs. Haverford at 5 p.m. at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium.
