Annette Bay Pimentel Online Lecturer for Writing for Children and Young Adults

Annette Bay Pimentel, online lecturer for the Writing for Children and Young Adults program, is the author of "How a Bear Became a Book: The Collaboration That Created Winnie-the-Pooh," which documents the origin story of Winnie-the-Pooh.

Pimentel and illustrator Faith Pray were interviewed about working together on the book by NPR Weekend Edition Saturday host Scott Simon.

Vickie Mazer Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies

Dean of Graduate and Professional Studies Vickie Mazer spoke about McDaniel's graduate programs, including new master's degrees in Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Pathology, plus the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in partnership with LifeBridge Health's Carroll Hospital, for the "Maryland Business Spotlight" on iHeart Radio Baltimore (WPOC-FM, JACK-FM, Heaven 600, and Z104.3).

Aqil Shah Associate Professor of Political Science

Time magazine published an article by Aqil Shah, associate professor of Political Science.

"The Other Side of Paradise: How Pakistan Crushed Protests in Kashmir" addresses the protests in Kashmir that have resulted in civilian deaths by security forces.

"Pakistan-administered Kashmir has not been insulated from the wider economic crisis in Pakistan," according to Shah.

Jonathan Slade '88 Professor of Communication and Cinema

Jonathan Slade '88, professor of Communication and Cinema, is an Emmy award-winning filmmaker and creator of the Mason-Dixon Surveyor, a hyper-local quarterly community newspaper published in Lineboro, Maryland. Slade was interviewed by the Westminster Wire, "A Carroll County town lost its local news, so a McDaniel professor started a paper."
