Scholarships and Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Consideration for merit scholarship is an automatic part of our admission review process. Your cumulative college GPA, having earned 30 or more transferable credits and completing a transfer application to McDaniel College is all that is needed to be considered for one of our renewable scholarships. Check out our cumulative GPA ranges and the corresponding amounts to see what you are guaranteed to receive if admitted to McDaniel.

2.75 - 3.25 = $16,000
3.26 - 3.65 = $20,000
3.66 or higher = $22,000

Attention Phi Theta Kappa members! Not only are you eligible for our transfer merit scholarships, but an additional $2000 on top of the highest scholarship you’re qualified to receive. Simply send us a copy of your PTK membership certificate/card or an email from your PTK advisor to verify your membership status.

What if I don’t see myself in these scholarship ranges?  Don’t worry! McDaniel is known for attracting diverse, well-rounded students who contribute to our community in many ways. When you apply, we’ll get to know you personally, and we’ll work with you to find your financial options. Your academic record, accomplishments outside the classroom, leadership potential, work and volunteer experience, and more will be taken into consideration through our holistic review process. We look forward to having you apply to McDaniel.

Educator’s Legacy Scholarship – Dependent full-time students of current K-12 or community college educators who have at least four years of continuous full-time employment in a school setting are eligible to receive a scholarship valued at up to $25,000* per year to help fund your college education. *For commuter students this scholarship is valued at $20,000 per year.  Complete and file the online Employment verification form.  Only one non-need-based scholarship per student is awarded; if you qualify for both a transfer merit scholarship and the Educator’s Legacy you will be given the one with the highest award value.

Receiving transfer merit scholarship is one part of our financial aid process. To see about your qualifications for need-based aid from McDaniel College we require your completed FAFSA. Make sure to include McDaniel (federal code #002109) on your FAFSA and once you’re admitted you will be reviewed for need-based financial aid at that time.
