    McDaniel selects students as National Security Fellows

    McDaniel College selects students into the National Security Fellows Program. The National Security Fellows Program pairs with any program of study and provides McDaniel students with robust knowledge, skills, and experience in national security as well as the ability to specialize in an area of interest, such as interstate conflict, intra-state political violence, cybersecurity, ethics, and human rights.

    McDaniel celebrates Earth Day

    McDaniel College celebrated Earth Day on Friday, April 21. In Memorial Plaza, students, faculty, and staff enjoyed eco games, recycled crafts, live music, food, and more, during an Earth Day Fair. Additionally, the McDaniel Environmental Center hosted students from Gerstell Academy for an Earth Day celebration focused on taking action to improve the local community and the environment.

    ReDorm wins $5K top prize at McDaniel's Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge

    UPDATE: ReDorm presented by sophomore Javon Spencer, Business Administration major from New Castle, Delaware, earned the $5,000 top prize as the first-place winner of McDaniel’s seventh annual Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge.

    McDaniel senior directs "Wanda's Visit"

    Shakara Sapp, a senior Theatre Arts major from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, directs "Wanda's Visit," Christopher Durang’s comedic one-act play. Performances are Thursday, April 20, Friday, April 21 and Saturday, April 22 at 7:30 p.m. in Dorothy Elderdice Studio Theatre, WMC Alumni Hall. Note: the show, which is approximately 35 minutes in length, is intended for mature audiences.

    Popular class teaches students West African drumming and culture

    McDaniel students are learning to groove on the djembe drum in the course West African Drumming Culture, taught by Paco Samb, senior adjunct lecturer and Senegalese griot. Through drums songs and dance, they learn about the history and culture of West Africa.

    McDaniel students volunteer in annual Tournament of Champions

    As the culminating event for McDaniel's NCAA Division III week celebration, over 100 McDaniel College students teamed up with more than 100 elementary and middle school students with special needs. Organized by students in the college’s adapted physical education class in conjunction with Carroll County Public Schools, participants challenged themselves individually in various athletic events alongside McDaniel buddies.

    First of two Senior Capstone Art exhibitions features work from graduating Art majors

    “Diverging Artists” features a range of media from photography, digital design, and acyclic paint, to the collection of multimedia pieces, from graduating Art majors at McDaniel. The exhibition runs Tuesday, April 11-Friday, April 21, in McDaniel’s Esther Prangley Rice Gallery in Peterson Hall. An opening reception takes place Thursday, April 13, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.

    Seniors win awards at annual History honor society conference

    Seniors were invited by McDaniel History faculty members to present shortened versions of their senior history colloquium papers at the Phi Alpha Theta History Honor Society Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference held Saturday, March 25 at Washington College.

    Juniors and Seniors at McDaniel inducted into Phi Beta Kappa national honor society

    On March 26, 27 students were inducted into McDaniel College's Delta of Maryland Chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation’s oldest academic honor society.
