Jaylin Smith, a senior double majoring in Theatre Arts and English, is one of eight performers chosen to compete in the Howard County Arts Council’s Rising Star Performing Arts Competition.
Alumni, students, families, and community members celebrate Homecoming 2025 on Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25, with Homecoming traditions, including tailgating at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium while Green Terror football takes on Dickinson College. Additionally, the annual Green & Gold Challenge, a weeklong competition to support McDaniel's student-athletes, runs Oct. 22-29.
In honor of National Transfer Student Week, McDaniel announces that the college has been named as one of the 251 most transfer-friendly colleges in the nation by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, an international honor society for two-year colleges.
Brett Foelber ’08 is an assistant vice president for marketing at St. John Properties, where he has worked since 2021 and previously served as director of marketing. Foelber and his fellow 40 Under 40 honorees were selected by the Baltimore Business Journal for their significant contributions to not only their workplaces but also within their communities.
McDaniel College has announced an approximately $15 million bequest, the largest gift in the college's history, along with the public launch of a $50 million comprehensive campaign entitled “Reaching New Heights: The Campaign for McDaniel College.” Learn more at campaign.mcdaniel.edu.
McDaniel's Delta of Maryland chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa national honor society, Global Fellows, the Departments of English and History and Art History, and the Lumen Scholars Program host a series of lectures this fall that are free and open to the public. Each lecture takes place in Coley Rice Lounge in McDaniel Hall.
New faculty include Rosalyn A. Davis, Speech-Language Pathology; Rachel Guilfoyle, Occupational Therapy; Christopher C. Palmore, Sociology; and Timothy Swartz, Environmental Studies. McDaniel has also promoted Dina Rady, Economics; and Maureen Williams, Biology.
Two current members of the Green Terror Battalion, Landen Li and Connor Wolf, have earned three-year advanced designee Army ROTC Scholarships. The scholarships, which are awarded based on scholastic, athletic, and leadership attributes, cover full tuition and fees, plus additional funds for books, as well as a monthly living stipend.
