McDaniel hosts Homecoming 2025
Alumni, students, families, and community members celebrate Homecoming 2025 on Friday, Oct. 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25, with Homecoming traditions, including tailgating at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium while Green Terror football takes on Dickinson College. Additionally, the annual Green & Gold Challenge, a weeklong competition to support McDaniel's student-athletes, runs Oct. 22-29.

Homecoming weekend kicks off Friday, Oct. 24, with the McDaniel College Athletics Hall of Fame Celebration.
The 2025 recipients are:
- Tom Brown Jr. '02 (Men's Lacrosse)
- Sue Dixon Hines '49 (Field Hockey, Softball, Women's Basketball, Women's Tennis, and Volleyball)
- Morgan Koopman Silcott '13 (Women's Golf)
- Paige Messersmith '13 (Women's Lacrosse and Field Hockey)
- Katy Powell '07 (Women's Basketball)
- Joe Rollins '14 (Football)
- Dave Seibert '78, M.Ed. '81 (Baseball coach)
Festivities on Saturday, Oct. 25, begin with alumni games for women's lacrosse, baseball, volleyball, and softball.
Other highlights include the annual brunch hosted by the Alumni Coalition for Belonging & Impact and the Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony, plus works by recent Art alums EJ Lee ’15, Sarah Méndez ’24, Quyen Nguyen ’21, and Brenay Spencer ’24 are exhibited in “Four Alumnae, Four Paths" in Esther Prangley Rice Gallery.
Along with the Alumni Tailgating Tent is the public launch of “Reaching New Heights: The Campaign for McDaniel College,” highlighting the specific priorities, including the creation of spaces for academic excellence, cultivating campus life and community belonging, and increasing engagement through community and career connections.
McDaniel Admissions also hosts a Game Day Open House for prospective students (advance registration required).
Prior to kick off of the Green Terror football game is the official dedication and ribbon-cutting of the new donor-funded Dr. Richard A. Clower ’50 Track at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium, named in honor of Dick Clower '50, professor emeritus of Exercise Science and Physical Education (now Kinesiology), who also served as the college’s director of Athletics. Dick Clower and his wife, Sherry Clower '94, M.S. '99, will join McDaniel President Julia Jasken for the ceremony and members of the men’s and women’s track and field teams will take part in a ceremonial lap around the track.
Other Homecoming traditions, including the presentation of the Homecoming Court, naming the winner of the Letters on the Hill contest, and awarding the James Brant Memorial Cup to the McDaniel fraternity or sorority that excels in academics, varsity sports, leadership, and community service, also occur pre-game of the football game before Green Terror football takes on Dickinson College at 1 p.m. at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium.
In addition to the alumni tailgating tent during the game, featured tailgates include women's basketball, golf alumni, theatre alumni, study abroad alumni, the American Sign Language department, Alpha Gamma Tau (Bachelors), the Alumni Coalition for Belonging & Impact, and the McDaniel Women's Leadership Network.
