McDaniel College’s Admissions Office, along with the Green Terror, surprised five high school seniors from Anne Arundel and Carroll counties in Maryland and Lititz, Pennsylvania, with full four-year scholarships as the college’s newest Dorsey Scholars for the Class of 2030. The Dorsey Scholars Program is the highest academic honor at McDaniel.
Five Baltimore City high school seniors from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Benjamin Franklin High School at Masonville Cove, Green Street Academy, and REACH! Partnership School are recipients of full-tuition scholarships to attend McDaniel College as part of the Class of 2030. Each scholarship covers full tuition for all four years at McDaniel, valued at approximately $200,000 each.
Representatives from McDaniel College surprised Westminster High School senior Jacob Noonan with the Carroll County Scholars full-tuition scholarship, valued at approximately $200,000 over four years. Noonan is the inaugural recipient of the scholarship, which is awarded to one Carroll County student who has participated in McDaniel's Carroll County Scholars program.
McDaniel College’s Art department presents the annual student honors exhibition. Titled “Fragments of Becoming,” the exhibition runs Tuesday, March 3-Friday, March 20, in McDaniel’s Esther Prangley Rice Gallery. An opening reception takes place Thursday, March 5, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a gallery talk at 6 p.m.
A group of McDaniel College students, along with McDaniel President Julia Jasken, Associate Vice President for Administration and Government Relations Jenni Glennon, Social Work Professor Jim Kunz, and Political Science Lecturer Patrick Murray, met with lawmakers and participated in a luncheon during "Independent Higher Education Day" in Annapolis, Maryland, on Tuesday, Feb. 17.
McDaniel College announces its fall 2025 dean's list, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.
McDaniel Biology students presented their research from fall semester course-based projects on ecology, marine symbiosis, entomology, antibiotic resistance, and more, including scientific posters, during the “Antennae, Tentacles, and Beyond" fall research symposium hosted by McDaniel College's Biology department.
For the 25th year, McDaniel College students participated in the Model European Union Simulation conference. A delegation of eight students represented Portugal and were accompanied to the conference by Christianna N. Leahy, professor in the Political Science and International Studies department at McDaniel.
All current 8th and 10th grade students residing in Carroll County are invited to receive free college search support by enrolling in Carroll County Scholars. Cohorts begin in the fall of 9th or 11th grades. Participants also receive a $100,000 scholarship to McDaniel upon completion of the program.
McDaniel College student actors perform in “The Madman and the Nun,” an absurdist comedy written by Stanislaw Witkiewicz, exploring love, art, and power. Performances are Thursday, Nov. 20-Saturday, Nov. 22, at 7:30 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. Please note the show contains adult material and is intended for mature audiences.
