Homecoming 2025 celebrated on the Hill
Homecoming 2025 included cheering for the Green Terror while tailgating during Saturday's home football game. The official dedication and ribbon-cutting of the Dr. Richard A. Clower '50 Track, as well as the presentation of the Homecoming Court, awarding the James Brant Memorial Cup, and naming the winners of the Letters on the Hill contest, took place prior to kickoff.

Alumni, students, families, and community members celebrated Homecoming 2025 on Saturday, Oct. 25.
Various alumni events included McDaniel Athletics Alumni Games for baseball, softball, women's lacrosse, and volleyball, the Alumni Coalition for Belonging & Impact Annual Brunch, and the Memorial Bell Ringing Ceremony with members of the Student Alumni Council reading the names of alumni who have passed. McDaniel Admissions also hosted a Game Day Open House for over 200 prospective students and their families.
Along with tailgating at Kenneth R. Gill Stadium was the public launch of “Reaching New Heights: The Campaign for McDaniel College,” highlighting the specific priorities, including the creation of spaces for academic excellence, cultivating campus life and community belonging, and increasing engagement through community and career connections.
Prior to kickoff of the Green Terror football game against Dickinson College was the official dedication and ribbon-cutting of the new donor-funded Dr. Richard A. Clower '50 Track. Named in honor of 1950 alum Dick Clower, professor emeritus of Exercise Science and Physical Education (now Kinesiology), Clower also served as the college’s director of Athletics. Dick Clower and his wife, Sherry Clower '94, M.S. '99, joined McDaniel President Julia Jasken, Board Chair Bruce Preston '75, and Athletic Director Jeremy Shepherd, along with the Green Terror, Head Track and Field Coach Kendall Luy and former Head Track and Field Coach Doug Renner '80, for the ceremony. Members of the men’s and women’s track and field teams also ran a ceremonial lap around the track.
Afterwards, the presentation of the Homecoming Court by President Jasken took place on Rembert Field. Sophomore Royalty was Writing & Publishing major Monet Smith of Randallstown, Maryland, Junior Royalty was Social Work major Envy Lemon of Baltimore, and Senior Sovereigns were Amira Stewart, Accounting and Business Administration major from Brooklyn, New York, and Nadia Dennis, Marketing and Philosophy major from Westminster, Maryland.
Alpha Sigma Tau sorority received the James Brant Memorial Cup for excelling in academics, varsity sports, leadership, and community service, while Phi Sigma Sigma Women's Fraternity and Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity were recognized for the best Letters on the Hill.

Homecoming festivities officially kicked off Friday, Oct. 24, with the Athletics Hall of Fame Awards Celebration, which honors alumni athletes who personify the college’s tradition of excellence.
The honorees were also recognized at halftime of the Green Terror football game on Saturday, Oct. 25. Congratulations to this year's honorees!
