Meet McDaniel: Profiles from the Hill

Ask anyone their favorite things about McDaniel, and somewhere in a long list they’ll say, “Community.” McDaniel is defined by the scholars, mentors, and alumni who discovered a home on the Hill, so it only makes sense to meet them. Hear from graduating seniors, alumni, and faculty about how they found their place in academics, campus life, and more at McDaniel.

We are McDaniel: Class of 2026

McDaniel’s Class of 2026 is compassionate, bold, and ambitious. Through their time on the Hill, they’ve grown into confident leaders who craft their own opportunities while simultaneously guiding their peers.

Our 2026 senior profiles represent 20 undergraduate programs along with many student organizations and clubs, athletic teams, involvement opportunities, and types of experiential learning.

We’re proud to call them alumni and prouder still to share a selection of their stories here — told as only they can tell them, in their own words.

  • Cleo Braver '78
"If we can’t get lawmakers to enact public policy that incentivizes the right things, we can act on our own as consumers. Every single human can be an active participant in changing our food systems just by voting with their fork every day.”
  • Mary Lynn Durham and Bill Roj
“Here at McDaniel, imaginative learning opportunities, spanning everything from the arts and letters – to our innovation and entrepreneurship programs, have broadened and inspired you. And this year, McDaniel leadership and faculty, who brilliantly reimagined living and learning on the Hill, became their own shining example. Throughout your pursuits of the liberal arts and sciences, you have discovered imagination at work.”
  • Abbi Wicklein-Bayne in her National Park Ranger uniform.
“I think the parks are places where people can go to heal, to have fun, to spend time with their families, or just to get a break from the outside world.”
