    Cinema Showcase features eight original capstone films by McDaniel seniors

    Eight senior Cinema majors premiered more than their original films during the McDaniel Cinema Showcase on May 6. Their capstone creations showcased a piece of themselves on the big screen in Decker Auditorium, Lewis Hall of Science. Each film was written, directed, produced, and edited by a Cinema major as a portfolio of their work.

    Life Tacos wins $5K top prize at annual Entrepreneurship Competition

    UPDATE: Life Tacos presented by juniors Julianna Dotterweich, an Accounting, Economics, and Business Administration major from Timonium, Md., and Jessie Titus, an Environmental Studies major from Frederick, Md., earned the $5,000 top prize as the first place winner of the fifth annual McDaniel College Entrepreneurship Competition, formerly the Innovation Challenge Finals. Life Tacos aims at giving people healthier food options that are more affordable and accessible.

    McDaniel junior awarded Gilman Scholarship to study abroad through virtual French immersion program

    McDaniel College junior Khadijatou Diop hopes to become a more versatile French teacher after earning a $5,000 Gilman Scholarship to study abroad through the virtual French immersion program at Université Laval in Canada. Diop, a French major with a minor in Secondary Education from Columbia, Md., was one of 2,386 undergraduate students from across the nation selected to participate in the prestigious United States Department of State’s Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarship Program.

    Commencement speakers announced for McDaniel's 2020 and 2021 ceremonies on Saturday, May 22

    McDaniel College announces Commencement speakers and honorary degree recipients for both the 2020 and 2021 ceremonies to be held on Saturday, May 22. The 2020 Commencement Speaker is McDaniel College President Roger N. Casey, the college’s ninth president who is retiring at the end of the 2020-2021 academic year. The 2021 Commencement Speakers are Mary Lynn Durham and Bill Roj, both 1970 alumni, who supported the renovation of the college’s new Roj Student Center. The college also shares additional details about Commencement and Commencement-related events.
