    Representatives from McDaniel College, Baltimore City Public Schools, and the CollegeBound Foundation surprised five Baltimore City high school seniors with full-tuition scholarships to attend McDaniel as part of the class of 2026. They each received a scholarship covering tuition for all four years at McDaniel, valued at more than $160,000.

    The first-ever One Hill, One Day, was a resounding success due to the overwhelming support of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends. The entire McDaniel community came together to exceed the donor goal of 1,000 donors with 1,429 total and raised $228,136—the most ever on a single day of giving.

    On March 27, 19 students were inducted into McDaniel College's Delta of Maryland Chapter of the prestigious Phi Beta Kappa national honor society. The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation’s oldest academic honor society.

    Undergraduate and Graduate speakers announced for 2022 Commencement ceremonies

    McDaniel College announces Commencement speakers for the 2022 undergraduate and graduate ceremonies to be held on Saturday, May 21. Undergraduate Commencement speaker is author and social entrepreneur Michelle Poler, founder of the social movement Hello Fears and creator of the 100 Days Without Fear project, while Dan Rodricks, longtime columnist for The Baltimore Sun, will provide remarks during the graduate ceremony.

    McDaniel College honors Charter Day with One Hill, One Day

    On Wednesday, March 30, the McDaniel community and friends have the chance to come together for one day during One Hill, One Day to give in support of current and future McDaniel students.
  • “My work focuses on how a person is perceived based on how they choose to show themselves and the parts of self that may not be seen at first glance but are core elements of who they are,” states Laurel Conover. “I explore this idea through a variety of media, with a focus on different textures and how layering can convey this message in my art. I show these ideas in my own experiences as a way of glimpsing into my thought process and sense of self.”

    Art majors showcase their work in honors art exhibition, “Impressions of Individualism”

    McDaniel College’s Department of Art presents “Impressions of Individualism,” the college’s annual honors art exhibition, through Friday, April 1, in The Rice Gallery, Peterson Hall. An artists’ reception takes place Thursday, March 24, 5:30-7:30 p.m., with artist talks beginning at 6 p.m. McDaniel students exhibiting their work are Art majors Kaylen Buschhorn, Laurel Conover, Ezerae Ham, Laura Midkiff, Liz Mince, and Leah Wilder.

    McDaniel College announces recent staff promotions and additions

    Jill Centofanti has been promoted to dean of admissions, while Susan Fieldhouse, Carolyn Salazar and Andrew Van Der Stuyf have recently joined the college. Fieldhouse is the new registrar, Salazar is associate vice president for institutional advancement, and Van Der Stuyf is associate vice president for facilities management.
