    McDaniel College celebrates I Love the Hill month through February. With Feb. 23 marking the third annual I Love the Hill Day, alumni, students, faculty, staff, and more share the many reasons they love the Hill throughout the month.

    Jennifer Yang has been named the entrepreneur-in-residence for McDaniel College’s newly named Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, formerly known as The Encompass Distinction. As the entrepreneur-in-residence, Yang provides instruction and business strategy advice to students in the program. Yang is an entrepreneur with more than 23 years of strategy, management, and technology consulting experience working with CXO-level stakeholders at Fortune 50 companies, start-up ventures, and federal agencies.

    McDaniel College announces Fall 2020 dean's list

    McDaniel College announces its Fall 2020 dean's list, recognizing full-time undergraduate students for outstanding academic achievement. Highest honors are earned for a semester grade point average of 3.90 or higher, high honors for a grade point average of 3.70-3.89, and honors for a 3.50-3.69 grade point average.

    McDaniel College appoints Dr. Julia Jasken as tenth president

    Dr. Julia Jasken has been selected by the McDaniel College Board of Trustees as the college’s tenth president, effective June 1, 2021. Jasken will be only the second woman president in the college’s history. She has dedicated nearly her entire professional life to higher education and most notably to McDaniel, beginning in the classroom in 2003 as an English professor and most recently has served as the college’s executive vice president and provost.

    New digital issue of The Hill magazine available now

    Alumni may have been wondering where the summer issue of The Hill magazine was this year, but they got the answer on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020 when the magazine launched digitally for the second consecutive issue. Although The Hill could not be printed in 2020, a new digital platform ensured the McDaniel College community was able to stay up to date with their friends, classmates, and the college.

    McDaniel College elects new members to the Board of Trustees

    McDaniel College has named two new members to its Board of Trustees. Jin Kang of Great Falls, Va., is president and chief executive officer of WidePoint Corporation. Susan C. Stevenson of Ashland, Mass., a 1985 alumna of the college, is an executive director at the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research.

    Rachel Druckenmiller ’06 has been recognized among The Daily Record’s 2020 Leading Women. The Daily Record’s Leading Women awards recognize women who are 40 or younger for the accomplishments they have made so far in their careers. Druckenmiller, the founder and chief executive officer of Unmuted, LLC, is an award-winning and nationally-recognized thought leader with over a dozen years of experience in the field of workplace wellbeing and culture.

    More than 20 McDaniel students were part of the “As You Like It (abridged)” production at the college. Performances were Thursday, November 12, Friday, November 13, and Saturday, November 14 in WMC Alumni Hall. Due to COVID-19, the performances were only open to McDaniel students, faculty, and staff.
