    McDaniel College names inaugural Nursing program director

    Heather A. Gable has been named the inaugural program director for McDaniel's new Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Gable brings 25 years of nursing experience in acute and long-term care, including as a licensed nursing home administrator, and comes to McDaniel after serving as dean at Centra College.

    Associate Professor Brad Stoddard was inspired by input from students in his courses at McDaniel College to co-edit a new anthology of essays addressing modern stereotypes on religion, “Stereotyping Religion: Critiquing Clichés Volume II.”

    New full-time faculty members at McDaniel include Daniel Boches, assistant professor of Sociology, Hyunjae Jeon, assistant professor of Kinesiology, and Svetlana Tokareva, assistant professor of Marketing. Additionally, Laura Bitto '04 has been promoted to assistant professor of Education.

    Graduate Coordinator Mona Kerby receives Distinguished Scholars Award

    Mona Kerby, the L. Stanley Bowlsbey Endowed Chair at McDaniel College, earned the college’s Distinguished Scholars Award and plans to write and publish a science-fiction comedy novel geared towards third- to fifth-grade readers.

    Nora Roberts Faculty Award goes to adjunct lecturer Tracy Imm '87 for Social Impact Storytelling course

    Tracy Imm is an adjunct lecturer in the Communication and Cinema and Economics and Business Administration departments and a 1987 alum of the college. She received the college’s Nora Roberts Faculty Award, which provides financial support for a faculty member to establish or build upon a social justice, service learning, or community engagement project.

    Political Science professor recognized as Boehlke Fellow

    Political Science Professor Christianna Nichols Leahy was selected as the 2023 Charles A. Boehlke, Jr., Engaged Faculty Fellow. The Charles A. Boehlke, Jr., Engaged Faculty Fellows Award was established with a gift from Charles A. Boehlke, Jr., a 1978 alumnus of the college and current member of the McDaniel Board of Trustees.

    Faculty earn top undergraduate teaching awards

    Two McDaniel professors have earned awards for their dedication to teaching and scholarship, awarded at McDaniel’s 153rd Commencement ceremony. The awards are the Ira G. Zepp Distinguished Teaching Award and the Ira G. Zepp Teaching Enhancement Grant.
