Student Solo Recital
The Student Solo Recital on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in Coley Rice Lounge features vocal, piano, and clarinet soloists performing a variety of music spanning from classical to contemporary. The program includes music by Johann Sebastian Bach to Alanis Morissette.
Students involved study under McDaniel Music faculty members Rachel Andrews, staff accompanist; David Duree, senior adjunct lecturer of Music; and Kyle Engler, senior lecturer of Music.

Student African Drum Ensembles
On Thursday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m., in Baker Memorial Chapel, students in McDaniel College’s Student African Drum Ensembles perform, under the direction of Senior Adjunct Lecturer Pape Demba “Paco” Samb.
McDaniel College Choir and Green TerrorTones Concert
McDaniel students perform in the McDaniel College Choir and Green TerrorTones Concert on Sunday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. in Baker Memorial Chapel. Both the McDaniel College Choir and the Green TerrorTones a cappella ensemble are under the direction of Senior Lecturer Kyle Engler.
The McDaniel College Choir performs various works, including “Kyrie” from Duruflé Mass, “In the Mist” by Kate Crellin, “Echo” by Tracy Wong, music from “Game of Thrones” and “Baba Yetu” from the “Civilization” video game series, and “Barber's Agnus Dei” based on the “Adagio for Strings.”
Selections to be performed by the Green TerrorTones are “Human Heart” by Coldplay and Jacob Collier, “Water” by Pentatonix, “Remember Me” from Disney’s “Coco,” “Song for the Asking” by Paul Simon, “Can't Help Falling in Love” by Elvis Presley, and “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire.

Jazz Night
Adjunct lecturer Brian Frazier directs Jazz Night on Thursday, Dec. 4, at 7 p.m., in WMC Alumni Hall. The concert features diverse styles of jazz, including classic big band swing, bebop, Latin, funk, and rock and roll.
Highlights of the program include "Over the Rainbow" from "The Wizard of Oz," Earth, Wind & Fire's "Fantasy," Booker T. and the M.G.'s "Green Onions," and Dizzy Gillespie's "Manteca."

College Band Concert
Senior Lecturer in Music Linda Kirkpatrick directs the McDaniel College Band Concert on Friday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. The band comprises McDaniel students, as well as McDaniel faculty members, alumni, and community musicians, including students from Carroll Community College and Carroll County Public Schools.
Selections include "Arabian Dances" by Brian Balmages, "Yosemite Autumn" by Mark Camphouse, and "Molly on the Shore" by Percy Grainger. Shelley Ensor, senior adjunct lecturer in Music, is the guest soloist on “Christmas from the '50s.”

Westminster Symphony Orchestra Concert
Titled "A Musical Call for Unity," the Westminster Symphony Orchestra Concert takes place Saturday, Dec. 6, at 3 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. Directed by Linda Kirkpatrick, senior lecturer in Music, the Westminster Symphony Orchestra is composed of McDaniel and Carroll Community College students, as well as Music faculty and community musicians.
The featured composer for the concert is Valerie Coleman, who was commissioned to write "Umoja: Anthem of Unity for Orchestra" for the Philadelphia Orchestra, which premiered in 2019. Other selections include "The Planets: Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity" by Gustav Holst; Vivaldi’s "Winter Concerto" featuring Music faculty member Nicholas Currie on violin; and "A Hip-Hop Fantasy Stand” rapped by Tony Gerald, owner of Collision Course in Westminster, Maryland. McDaniel College's Gospel Choir plans to sing "Feliz Navidad" along with the orchestra to close out the concert.

Gospel Choir Concert
The Gospel Choir performs Sunday, Dec. 7, at 3 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall. Directed by Senior Adjunct Lecturer Shelley Ensor and accompanied by Alice Dorsey, the Gospel Choir performs traditional and contemporary gospel music along with some holiday favorites.
Ensor said, "Come prepared to sing along and dance as the Gospel Choir sings your soul happy!"
