  • 2025: Duke University’s Bruce Caldwell, historian of economic thought and Research Professor of Economics, presented “The Life and Ideas of F.A. Hayek.”

Interviewing Day for Accounting Majors

Interviewing Day is an annual event hosted by McDaniel’s Economics and Business Administration Department that connects accounting students with top employers. Students take part in a series of on-campus interviews with regional and national accounting firms, many represented by McDaniel alumni. The event offers valuable real-world experience, helping students build confidence and professional skills.

Organized by faculty and supported by alumni, Interviewing Day reflects the department’s strong commitment to career preparation.

Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship Challenge, sponsored by the Center for Experience and Opportunity, is a competition that invites students to develop and pitch creative business ideas aimed at solving real-world problems. The event is especially encouraged for students pursuing the Entrepreneurship or Marketing minors. Students participate in an eight-week training program, receiving mentorship from faculty and alumni to turn their ideas into real plans. It all leads up to a final pitch event, where students compete for cash prizes to help bring their ideas to life.

The Innovation and Entrepreneurship challenge exemplifies McDaniel’s commitment to experiential learning and provides a valuable opportunity for students to gain real-world business experience.
